Phil Way Memorial Tournament Sunday 12th June

Tragically on Saturday 21st May 2011 Phil Way (31) died whilst batting for Cadnam in a Hampshire League match at Hordle. He had played for the Club since he was a colt, he was captain of our Border League side and groundsman at our Minstead pitch. His death has devastated his partner and three young children along with everyone who knew him or shared his love of cricket.

In his memory and to raise money to help his family, Cadnam Cricket Club is holding a 6-a-side cricket day on Sunday 12th June 2011. This will be contested by Cadnam teams past and present, local New Forest Club’s and includes a team of Phil’s family and friends. We will be using our two grounds at Cadnam and Minstead on that day starting at 10.30am with the final at Cadnam at about 6pm.

We would like to invite everyone involved in cricket or who knew Phil to join us on that day to honour his memory and support his family at this difficult time. If you can make it we will give you a traditional Cadnam welcome. If you can’t but would like to help us raise money for his family please make a donation via our Club Treasurer, Ron Biddlecombe at 32 Selsdon Avenue Romsey, Hants SO51 7PL.
