Under 13s win indoor league (morally!)
Sway U13s will actually finish runners up
in the Dorset Indoor U13s League rather than picking up the winner
trophy due to a technicality. Skipper Olly Marshall had inadvertently
made himself ineligible by playing too many times for the U13s.
Without the relevant match being forfeited with no points, Sway would
have been clear league winners - fully justified as they were the best
side in the division.
In any event there were some great performances over the season with all
the boys improving rapidly.
Leading the way with the bat was Seth Pickering who racked up 142 runs
at an average of 35. Second was was left-hander Harry West who aside
from racking 132 and only being dismissed once, single handled won a
game for Sway with a massive 65 not out when Sway were dead and buried.
Powerhouse Jasper Condon notched up 107 runs at average of 53 and the
the skipper scored 98 runs at an average of 33.
All rounder Declan Treacey continues to improve with bat and ball as
does Tom O'Callahgan who power and pace was unplayable at times.
Of the bowlers, Kail Hale was the standout contributor with a series of
tidy spells whilst Brage Wallis' moodballs proved very efficient and
hard to play. As ever Jasper Condon's stump to stump low flight spin was
uber-economical and he is sure to bag many wickets when he debuts in
Hampshire League cricket in 2021.
Behind the sticks, Austin Hudson was very tidy...and there is no
faster/crazier runner between the wickets in the Club.
Well done boys....sorry its only a runner up trophy - managers fault!
