Super professional performance by Sway U13s (an U12 and an U11) this evening to beat top of the table and unbeaten Compton & CF to book a place in the U14s cup semi- final.
Compton batted first but were pegged back when Noah Glass (2-0-14-1) bowled the opener for just 6. Glass followed this up with a quality run out - taking the time to aim before getting a direct from distance. When Olly Marshall (3-0-31-1) bowled the number 3 the batting side were under pressure and two fur...ther run outs followed - one for Glass and one for Alex Condon.
Compton were left LMS with their number 4 moving onto 46 before being c&b by Oli Sharp (2.3-0-33-1) in the penultimate over to finish 141ao.
In reply Oscar Hudson (who looks a snip at just £1m in the Fantasy League) along with Marshall were in total control of the chase. The pair put on 61 at the required rate before Marshall fell for the old bad ball chestnut, slapping a rank full toss to mid-on.
Hudson retired but Glass kept things going nicely. Whilst Alex Condon was run out in a mix up, his brother Jasper did his job running well supporting Glass then Sharp once Glass (25*) was safely back on the hutch.
Going into the final over Sway needed 9 to win. The first 2 balls yielded 4 runs but then Jasper was bowled off the third, meant that five runs were needed off three balls. Another three followed well placed by Hudson (30*) then Sharp (18*) hit the ball back over the bowlers head for 4 to win the game.
A great performance by the boys - well done all
