Morris dances to match-winning ton!

Brockenhurst II 200-9 Sway III 202-7

Sway won the toss and put Brock in to bat and they passed 50 before the fall of the first wicket when Morris trapped Draper lbw by for 14, then bowled Wickison shortly after. After excellent opening spell with no success, Metcalfe was replaced by young Malo Holden and in his first over Greenwood 42 miscued a short ball and Rick How took a good running catch and then Crossthwaite held an excellent catch close in to remove Creswell and Brock had gone from 53-0 to 76 for 4 wickets. It was Holdenís turn next to take the catch and produced a superb one handed catch high to his right to remove the dangerous looking Ahmed 19 after striking 4 quick boundaries. Harvey continued the run scoring and finished with an excellent 85 not out and with some tight Sway bowling at the end with Smith and Crossthwaite picking up a wicket apiece Morris ended with the top figures of 4-33 Brock finishing on 200-9.

Sway then struggled early to some tight bowling and variable bounce from the opening pair Hardcastle and Lock who took 2 wickets each and Sway were in a spot of bother at 41 for 4 but with Morris and Gallagher steadied the ship and once the opening bowlers were finished they took advantage of the more friendly bowling and reached 69 before Gallagher then Lawes were quickly out. Enter skipper Drayton who supported Morris who was severe on anything short and off line peppering the short leg side boundary on numerous occasions, 3 times across the road had moved the score on to 130-6 and Sway weíre back in charge. Drayton was bowled by Hammond for 25 and Crossthwaite 13no then carried on the support work giving the strike to Morris who reached his century with another boundary and won the game by 3 wickets with a lovely straight 6 off young Tom Greenwood, which didnít deserve to go that far. Morris ended his fabulous knock on 108 not out with 10 6ís and 8 4ís helping Sway to joint top of the league and a crunch game with Dorset Indians in 2 weeks time.
