U11s & U16s both through to cup finals!

In the U16s cup Semi final Sway chased down 149 with 3 balls to spare to beat Hyde by 9 wkts with Tom Burton, Dan & Josh Bailey all retiring on 40 after an excellent team bowling display with and impressive zero wides bowled.

The previous Thursday, Sway U11s also booked their place in the New Forest Cup final after a comprehensive 75-run win over New Milton at Fernhill. Sway batted first and produced an excellent display of running and hitting. Skipper Olly Marshall made a quickfire 27 before retiring as did fellow opener Alex Condon a few overs later. There was then a fine unbeaten knock by skipper Oli Sharp 27* supported by Noah Glass 15* as Sway recorded a large total. ...In reply Sway's bowlers were always in control - there were wickets for Tom O'Callaghan, Lukas Andrews, Glass and Callum Wallis but the highlight was a hatrick for Sharp in a devastating 2-oever spell that saw 4 wickets for just 2 runs. Sway will play Bashley or Pylewell in the final.

In the evenings other game, the U13s were involved in a dramatic game of cricket against Beaulieu that went down to the very last ball in the decending gloom. Needing a single to win Reece Dawson was on strike with Sara Allport at the other end. Dawson missed the ball which went through to the keeper, but the speedy Allport made her ground with Dawson scampering through to the bowlers end to give Sway the win.
