"Glassy" returns to haunt Fawley

Sway's friendly team journeyed to Fawley to meet old friend Andrew Woods who had included in his  side Fawley's South African star Aashiq Rhode and Hythe and Dibden's Aussie import Luke Hodges!!

Fortunately Sway had travelled with first teamers F.J.Charton and David Steadman and also sportingly allowed Fawley to include the late arriving Lewis Marden to make it a 10 aside game.

Sway batted first but apart from a boundary laden 36 from Charton struggled to a sub par 109 all out despite 32 from Steadman. Z.Bowen with 2 - 1 and Woods with 2 - 0 mostly doing the damage.

Fawley opened with both their overseas stars whilst Sway employed under 11 Noah Lane-Glass and left arm towie Mark Wright. Tight spells from Steadman,  captain Caspar Todd and Vito Falso kept Sway  in contention however it was the golden arm of Niall ( Ganguly ) Gallagher who trapped Rhode lbw for 27 and then bowled M.Bowen first ball.

George Lewis ( 3 - 8 ) then removed Fawley skipper K.Coxall caught at slip by Dave Hurrell before Hodges on 35 was bamboozled by Hurrell's flight, guile drift and turn holing out tamely to Todd on the cow boundary.

With their tails up Sway finished off the job with Lane-Glass bowling Woods for 2 and even the Pieman getting a wicket before Lane-Glass with the last ball of the match had D.Newcomb sharply stumped by Nick Brien leaving Marden not out and Fawley's total on 89.
