U9s into cup semi-final

Sway U9s travelled to Lyndhurst for their 1/4 Final U9 Cup game. Lyndhurst won the toss and asked Sway to bat. It was a disastrous start for the visitors who lost 2 wickets to the first 2 balls of the match to the impressive Lyndhurst captain Ben Mayes. At the halfway stage Sway had a modest total of 216 for 2.The later Sway batsmen improved the situation with sensible batting and good running between the wickets. Luke Shearer (15) and Jon Pepin (8) put together a partnership of 40 and Ollie Marshall (18) and Declan Treacey(3) added useful runs in the final overs and Sway finished on 278 for 3.

Lyndhurst started slowly against some tight bowling by Harry West and Jasper Condon. Ollie Marshall claimed 3 wickets but there was some powerful hittng at the end of the innings by Ben Mayes who hit 7 boundaries in an innings of 39 which bought the Lyndhurst total to 253 for 6 leaving Sway winners by 25 runs.
Sway will entertain Totton & Ealing in the Semi Final on Tues July 19th.
