HYTHE + DIBDEN U15's 126 - 5 SWAY U15's 153 - 8     Report by Dave Hurrell

Sway under 15's made it 3 wins in succession when overcoming Hythe and Dibden by 27 runs at Jones Lane.

With manager Dennis "Claudio" Allport away on holiday taking a chunk of the team with him, the side were guided by the ultra knowledgeable John Bailey and Andy Balcombe and on winning the toss had no hesitation in batting first.
Seb Harris and Tom Burton opened and Harris dispatched the first ball for 4, however in trying to repeat the shot he was caught on the boundary bringing in Daniel Bailey. Burton and Bailey dominated the bowling both hitting 2 sixes and 4 fours and both retiring with Joshua Bailey and Giacomo Bigazzi replacing them. Hythe now got back into the game with D.Duell bowling Bigazzi and young spinner J.Holloway claiming a hat trick! with Sway tumbling from 121 - 1 to 124 - 6. Bethan Marshall had come to the wicket and watched all this happen whilst not facing a single ball ( probably reminiscent of past holidays with her father floundering around around at the other end ) she was now joined by Bradley Balcombe and they with the help of Thomas Clowes and Arthur Lomax pushed the score on and Burton was back in for the last two deliveries missing the first then planting a six over third man to leave the final score on 153.

W.Ladbury and Duell opened for Hythe with J.Bailey taking a caught and bowled to remove Ladbury for 13, Balcombe also then caught and bowled K.Taylor leaving Hythe on 21 - 2. Duell and Ben Jones repaired the damage and Duell retired on 41, before the vital wicket of big hitting Sam Fenton who was run out with Malo Holden and D.Bailey combining well. D.Bailey and Freddie Pearson bowled some vital overs before Balcombe 2 - 25 and Burton with another caught and bowled kept Hythe in check with the hosts finishing 27 runs short with B.Jones unbeaten on 28.
