Super U9s on top form

Sway v Lyndhurst & Ashurst

On a bright but chilly evening Sway U9 overcame Lyndhurst in a competitive encounter at Jubilee Field. Sway won the toss asked Lyndhurst to bat. The opening 2 pairs found runs difficult to come by against some tight and accurate bowling from Ollie Marshall, Tom O'callaghan, Jonny Pepin and Declan Treacey. This was backed up by keen fielding all round. The scoring improved towards the end of the innings mainly thanks to an aggressive innings from Ben Mayes who made 18 with Lyndhurst finishing on 250 for 4.

The Sway reply started in swashbuckling style and after 4 overs the score had reached 244.This was due to excellent batting from Tom O'Callaghan and Jasper Condon who between them hit 1x6 and 4x4.The bowling improved in the middle overs and a flurry of wickets saw the scoring restricted. However Sway were guided to victory by sensible batting and good running between the wickets by Ollie Marshall (26*) and Luke Shearer. The final total was 291 for 5 giving Sway victory by 41 runs.

Sway go to Pylewell next Friday to continue their impressive start to the season.
