U15s in second victory – two out of two so far...

Fawley 108-5, Sway 109-4

After last week’s comprehensive win at Bashley, Sway U15s headed to Fawley wondering whether last week had been an early peak to the season.

Mike Allport led an even younger side than last week with almost half the team eligible to play in the age below. Fawley batted first with Thomas Burton, Mike Allport, Bradley Balcombe and Joshua Bailey each bowling maximum 4 overs. With Daniel Bailey away at County, two of Sway’s U13s stepped up with Arthur Lomax taking a wicket caught by Finn Hishon (1-1-6) and Sara Allport managing (1-0-5). Top wickets was two from Mike Allport (4 2 27), one nicely stumped by Giacomo Bigazzi.

Sway went into bat needing 109, which looked possible given last week’s 171. Sebastian Harris and Thomas Burton opened, with Joshua Bailey in 3rd. They began well with Harris caught on 13, Burton retiring on 42 (slightly better than last week when he retired on 40) and Josh Bailey caught on 22.

Catherine Allport was unfortunately run out and Bethan Marshall bowled, leaving Giacomo Bigazzi and Michael Allport to finish off, each reaching 7 not out.

They overhauled Fawley in just the 12th over, so with 6 of the 18 overs and 7 wickets in hand, they pick up maximum batting points.

Sway XI:

Michael Allport (c), Catherine Allport, Sarah Allport, Joshua Bailey, Bethan Marshall, Sebastian Harris. Thomas Burton, Bradley Balcombe, Giacomo Bigazzi (w/k), Finn Hishon, Arthur Lomax
