Super U15s in thumping victory

Sway 171-0, Bashley 127-6

Sway U15s kicked off their 2016 season with a comprehensive 41 run victory over local rivals Bashley in what must surely go down in the Sway annals as one of the Club's greatest ever colts performances.

New skipper Mike "Brearley" Allport led a very young Sway side into what seemed to be a really tough opening fixture at Jubilee Field. Sway batted first, and batted superbly with a record three 40+ run retirements  - Tom Burton, Daniel Bailey and Sebastian Harris. With Joshua Bailey on 36 and Giacomo Bigazzi unbeaten on 9, Sway racked up an impressive 171 for the loss of no wickets off their 18 overs.

In reply, Bashley were kept under constant pressure from a tight Sway bowling attacked with 4th team star Bradley Balcombe picking up 4 wickets. There were also a series of excellent catches in the field to back up the bowlers.

Sway XI:

Michael Allport (c), Catherine Allport (w/k), Sarah Allport, Joshua Bailey, Daniel Bailey, Bethan Marshall, Sebastian Harris. Thomas Burton, Malo Holden, Bradley Balcombe, Giacomo Bigazzi

Sway trivia: Surely this is the first time a Sway colts team has featured three siblings?
