Sway Girls shine in U15s Finals day

Last season, Sway's girls won the Dorset Indoor Under 13s league so as an entra test, this season they entered the U15s league! The squad of 7 were all young for the age group - all under 14, one playing her first indoor season and two who are still 12 and could have been in the younger age group. So the girls were expecting to have a tough time in the U15s league - seemingly dominated by teams packed with Dorset U15s girls.

In the league our girls more than held their own, surprising themselves by qualifying for finals day last weekend. In the semi-final Sway were up against Christchurch A who have recently been very strong in girls cricket. In a superb game of cricket, Sway racked up 149-4 before a great performance in the field saw Christchurch restricted to 140-5.

So the girls found themselves in the final up against a Broadstone side who had comfortably won htier semi final. Again Sway batted excellently, scoring 145 but this time the total was not quite enough with the total being overhauled with two overs to go. So Sway finished runners runners up and picked up some rather nice trophies - a fantastic performance by the girls.
