SDS to continue Database sponsorship & support

The Club is delighted to announce that long-time supporter of the Club, SDS Group has agreed to continue to sponsor the Club's popular website and provide hosting for our statistical database.

Sway's historical database of matches and performances is the envy of many Clubs - its structure makes analysis of individual or team performances easy.

Set up by Sway legend, SDS's John Wills back in 2004, the database contains a  record of adult game played by the  Club from 1968 until the present day.

The Club would like to thank - Willsy and SDS for their continuing and highly valued support!

To, finish here are some cool facts about Sway's database:

There are 892 matches recorded on the database of which 406 were won, 451 abandoned, 17 drawn, 12 abandoned and 6 tied! Amazingly Sway legend Dave Hurrell has played in 367 of these games, 41.1% of all the games played by the Club!
The player with the most entries on the database is John Grasham with 539 entries: 200 batting appearances, 268 bowling performances and 71 catches!
There are 9,000 records of Sway individual batting performances and 5,250 records of Sway bowling performances.
A total of 366 Sway players are recorded on the database. The first player to appear is "R Loveless" in 1964, the last player to be added to the database was Any Balcombe in 2015.
The earliest match on the database was a Presidents Cup game against Hythe & Dibden at Jones Lane in 1964. Sway scored just 40 and lost by 107 runs. The Sway team contained many well-known local names: Drodge, Wareridge, Loveless, Crouch & Perrett.
