Indoor Cricket League
Sway A
188-3 - West Moors 138-3 - Sway won by 50 runs
Sway
A maintained their 100% league record with a relatively
easy win over bottom of the table West Moors.
Sway
batted first and never looked in any danger with skipper
Steve How looking in particularly good nick, working the
ball to the side walls for a constant stream of runs.
Hall and How were soon retired back to the hutch taking
Atapattu and David Steadman to the crease. The game was
halted briefly when a West Moors player tore a hamstring
and was forced to withdraw and was replaced by Dapper
who had been scoring. Sway continued to accumulated runs
with Atapattu retiring. There was a slight blip as Sway
looked to accelerate towards a huge total first when
Steadman ran out Dave Marshall for a golden - with
Marshall's stomach upset he was guaranteed some runs in
any event; and then Bennet who had been clattering the
ball drove into the ceiling. Hall returned to bring up
an unbeaten 50 and although How was stumped for 30, Atty
returned to join Hall and to see Sway through to 188-3.
In reply
West Moors were never really in the hunt albeit they
batted well. Atty started with a couple of typically
tight overs without getting any joy, West Moors were
always behind the pace, despite Sway only managing to
take 3 wickets - two hit ceilings off Hall and Marshall
and a fine slow ball bowled from Steadman.
