Sway II crush Mudeford III

Mudeford III 64ao, Sway 65-5. Sway won by 5 wickets

Mudeford won the toss and decided to bat on a difficult looking wicket at Wingfields and immediately regretted their decision when John Wills removed both openers in the first over. Smith and Carter put on 35 with some big hitting until Matt Bramwell had Carter caught by Dan Stevenson with the score on 39 and then Smith holed out to a superb running catch by Charlie Smith. Some excellent tight bowling and good fielding restricted Mudeford's scoring and they continued to lose wickets quickly with John Wills finishing up with 4-34 which included his 200th wicket for the Sway, Matt Bramwell bowled well for only one wicket, Matt Burton, Charlie Smith and Tony Owen picked up the remaining wickets and Mudeford finished all out for 64.

Missing 3 of their first choice top 4 batsmen on a deteriorating pitch, Sway's reply got off to a bad start losing Mark Wright and Tony Owen quickly with the score on 8. Rick How and FJ Charton held things together and then some friendly full tosses were quickly dispatched to the boundaries by Charton taking him to 24 before he tried one too many big hits and was caught off the bowling of Bantock who ended with 2 wickets. How and Glasspool were then out shortly afterwards to Ennils 2-12 and Pearce 1-8  before Dan Stevenson and Matt Burton took Sway over the finishing line before tea, making hard work of chasing 64 losing 5 wickets in the process, however they remain unbeaten after nine games
