Promotion hopes rocked by Walton injury
Sway 1st XI's hopes
of promotion to County Division 4 were dealt a serious blow by
the news of a serious injury to opening bowling wicket-meister,
Jack Walton. Fresh from celebrating his 200th wicket for Sway,
he broke his leg while wake boarding and will miss the rest of
the season. With 14 league
wickets already in 2010 at a miserly economy rate of just 2.72,
Walton will be a tough act to follow. However, Sway do have
bowling strength in depth and the likes of George Thornton and
Steve Thistleton will be looking to step up to the plate.
On the positive
side, hopefully Jacko will use the enforced break to take the
opportunity to get his persistent back problem sorted out so he
is raring to go in 2011.
