15th June 2010 1,000 runs for Rick How 2nd XI batsman Rick How passed 1,000 runs for Sway, achieving the landmark in a league game against Ringwood II in May. How, comfortably the best Scottish batsman in the New Forest (South West Region) has now scored 1,013 runs for the club at an average of 15.12 - still comfortably ahead of How Jnr. Rick made his debut for the club way back in May 2004 for the 2nd XI in a comprehensive 146 run defeat by Pennington and Wellworthy. On that occasion he scored just 3. Since then he has played 78 times for the club including 6 appearances for the 1st XI. Rick's finest moment and highest score to date was in 2009 when he notched up 78 in a superb XI victory over at Hyde. Interestingly, according to the stats, Rick is almost the only player in the club never to have bowled an over in a match....something that clearly needs to be rectified if for no other reason than amusement value!
