U11s edge out Pylewell Park

Sway 276-4 Pylewell 265-3. Sway won by 11 runs

The U11s gave the club's 4 wins out of 4 against Pylewell Park this season coming out ahead in a tight contest.

On a better than forecast Sunday morning at Jubilee Field, Pylewell won the toss and put Sway into bat, the first pairing of James Symons (7*) and Chris Straw(1) losing one wkt, followed by top scorer James Mantle (17*) and Adam Coe (4) also losing only one wkt. Up next Cavan Bullen (4) and Nick Brien (10*) lost two wkts. For the second week running it was the final pairing of Ryan Drayton (9*) and James Marshall (16*) that pushed the score on - taking the sore to 276, the highest score for Sway’s Under 11’s this season with some excellent shots along the way. B Chapman 3-10-2 and D Simonini 2-23-1 the pick of Pylewell’s bowlers.

Sway were without talisman Luke Lewis and in reply Pylewell needed just short of five an over to claim victory. Very tight bowling, however, from all of the Sway bowlers only giving away 10 runs in extras and some excellent fielding and James Symons comfortable behind the sticks saw the Sway side home beating the visitors by 11 runs, the pick of the bowlers James Marshall 2-6-1 including another run out and Nick Brien 2-19-1

Well done Sway under 11’s
