Sunday morning saw Sway put into bat by Fawley, R Pope making his debut alongside J Drodge opened the batting losing three wickets between them and scoring only one, this was the theme through the innings until the paring of R Drayton (17no) and J Marshall (13no) came in to bat with some excellent running, calling, backing up and great batting saw them add thirty runs to our below par scoring ending up with 227 for 6, Fawley bowlers B Parratt 2-11 and A Foster 2-16 being the pick of the bowling

With Fawley now batting Sway’s bowlers could not get a break through until the second and third parings with R Pope taking his first wicket for Sway. With the game in a fine balance Sway needed to find some form in the field and this came from the first of two run outs for Sway, R Drayton being the first to hit the stumps from 10 yards out, shortly followed by J Marshall aiming at a single stump from 5 yards. Going into the last over Fawley were on 229 J Marshall bowling, a single off of the first ball and Fawley’s non striker screaming at his partner not to hit out and to just defend, saw him do just that with the next five balls of the over aimed at middle stump. Sway were a little light, but a great game was had by all, well done Sway.
