Third XI shine in crushing victory

Sway  III 273-8, Otterbourne III 35. Sway won by 238 runs

Put into bat Sway scored consistently through the batting order as an under strength Otterbourne worked tirelessly in the field to contain the run rate. Opener Pete Hammett set the tone hitting a compact 65 getting support from Will and Chris Baughan and when he was run out youngsters Jacob Moore (27) and Andrew Straw (27 n.o) pushed things along, leaving Charlie Smith to score a rapid 27 n.o as Sway closed on 273-8. Pick of the Otterbourne bowling was D.Kay 2-34,with the other wickets going to T.Askew 2-53 and Matt Anderson 3-65.

Opening bowlers James Howard (3-16) and David Steadman (3-6) soon got amongst the wickets not giving the Otterbourne batsmen time to settle and backed up by excellent fielding had the game won early leaving Tony Owen 2-12 to end the match in the 15th over.
