U15s

SWAY 139-2, HYTHE & DIBDEN 120-2. Sway won by 19 runs

The U15s put in a fine performance for new coach Dave Marshall away to Hythe. Batting first Sway racked up 139-1 off their 18 overs. This included a superb opening partnership of 75 between David Steadman (40*) and Niall Gallagher (35). Gus Wooley then stepped up to club a quickfire 26. In reply Hythe put up a good fight, but the total always looked too much. After a slightly ropey start, Andrew Straw was the pick of the bowlers with his 4 overs going for just 17 - well below the required rate. Despite a few dropped catches, the fielding was generally excellent from the whole side with some excellent in particular from Matt Laverton, Tom Gould, Straw, Dom Keen and young Henry Marden.
