3rd May 2010 Milestones for Thistleton and Marshall With 3 runs in the pre season game against Farley, Steve Thistleton has now scored 1,001 runs (as well as his 100 wickets). Thistle junior made his debut for the club as a colt way back in 2002 - a friendly against Priory CC. He got a duck that day but did take 2 wickets for 16 runs off 4 overs. Since his debut Steve have made 116 appearances (including 31 for the 1st XI) averaging 13.67with the bat. His highest score is 52 (retired) in a friendly against Burridge in May 2008. Steve's batting average has increased for each of the last 5 years. With a score of 48 not out, Dave Marshall has now passed the 1,500 run mark, scoring a total of 1,540 at an average of over 26. Ironically the unbeaten score of 48 was identical to that he scored on his debut back in May 2006 for the 2nd XI against Ellingham III at Poulner School. His highest score was 68 for the 1st XI against BAE in 2006.
