The Committee are currently exploring the possibility of installing an artificial wicket at Jubilee Fields - a long held ambition.

An artificial wicket would be a fantastic facility; especially for the colts and kwik cricketers. It would allow the colts to get valuable practice "in the middle" and will enable quite a few matches to be played each season that otherwise would have been cancelled due to damp conditions. The wicket could also be used for some adult friendly games in damp conditions, generally relieving the pressure on the grass wickets. The wicket would be located on the far side of the square as you look from the pavilion.

A meeting is being held with potential ECB approved contractors in early Feb in order to explore the options which include taking the opportunity to provide proper bowling run-ups in the nets. The club will then look to apply for funding and also obtain the necessary consents and is thankful for the assistance and goodwill already shown in this regard.
