Sway I 286-8ao, Bransgore II 157ao. Sway won by 129 runs Victory in the final game at Alderholt next week will secure the second promotion in three years for Sway following a convincing victory over Bransgore II. Sway batted first and despite losing Adam Clark early on, scored runs freely via an entertaining and powerful 160 run partnership between Joe Rodway and Alex Hall. On form Hall powered past 500 league runs for the season before he was finally dismissed for 47, however, Rodway went on to score a fine chanceless 104 before eventually holing out. Sway continued to pile on the agony with decent contributions from Nilantha Atapattu (28), and a 55-run partnership between Dave Marshall (29) and Steve How (24) going to record a record a huge total of 286-8 - a new club record. In reply some gutsy batting from Bransgore, especially a fine partnership between M Thomas (39) and the big hitting S Bow (34) meant that Bransgore had advanced to 113 for the loss of just 2 wickets at the halfway stage, with Sway nerves just beginning to fray. However, when Thomas was bowled by one of Steve Thistleton's slightly less impressive deliveries (they all count!) , Bransgore's valiant resistance began to crumble and it was the turn of pace bowler George Thornton to record his best bowling figures for the club (5-19) and he ripped through the lower order with Bransgore eventually all out for 157.
