NEW MILTON IV  181-5. SWAY II  182-9. Sway won by 1 wicket

Put into bat New Milton made a good start and Steve Tuddenham and Tony Jones put on 49 before Jones was caught at slip by Pete Hammett off Sam Harvey for 10 with Tuddenham following shortly after caught and bowled by John Wills for 31. Simon Mills and Andy Soffe added 40 runs for the 3rd wicket before Jack Ford bowled Soffe and then had Glen Spencer caught at mid off to finish with 2-19 beating the bat often and bowling an excellent spell. Young George Watts kept Mills company as he started to accelerate the scoring before Watts was out to Matt Bramwell whilst Mills went on to finish up 74 not out as the score reached 181-5.

Soffe proved to be an awkward customer picking up an early wicket and ending with 1-16 from his 10 overs, however Dave Hurrell and Hammett put together 48 runs with Hurrell (28) bowled off his foot by Dexter Eke (1-27) and at halfway the score was 68-3. F.J.Charton helped Hammett take the total past the 100 mark but Richard Dawson 3-44 removed both of these batsmen Hammett for a exquisite 49 plus Pete Bennet for a quick 11 and with John Wills out to David Mills (2-49) New Milton looked to be in charge. Dan Stevenson however was batting with exemplary perspicaciousness and had made 24 when he was out in the penultimate over, with Bramwell and Harvey getting 7 runs off the remaining balls Sway needed 11 to win off the final over. Sam Harvey hit the first 2 balls for 4 followed by a dot ball and a wide then was run out going for a second run leaving the scores tied and last man Ford to get 1 run from the last 2 deliverys which he managed off the first ball to secure victory in an exciting finish.
