2nds on form to thump Ellingham

HCL RD4SW - Ellingham III 126-4, Sway II 203ao. Sway won by 78 runs

Batting first on a damp wicket at Rockbourne, Sway were in trouble at 12-3 and then 60-5 with only Ross Clark (15) reaching double figures. F.J.Charton was batting with great acumen and put on 44 runs in partnership with his captain Pete Bennet before miss-hitting a drive and being caught for 47 including 3 sixes off the bowling of B.Marshall 1-27. Bennet and John Wills mixed watchful defence with occassional boundaries and if they couldn't avoid it they ran some singles putting together an excellent 88 runs with Bennet making 55 and Wills 46. The innings finally concluded at 203 all out with S.Darcy 4-24 and M.Radford 3-55 being the main wicket takers.

K.Fry and Darcy opened for Ellingham and got away to a steady start but the Sway bowlers were proving difficult to score freely off and the run rate was getting more onerous, Clark caught and bowled Darcy for 15 and Marshall was run out leaving the score at 46 - 2. Fry and Radford took the total up to 81 before Radford was caught by Pete Hammett off Matt Bramwell (1-26 ) and Fry was eventually out for 57 caught by Hammett off Charlie Smith 1-18. C.Bagshot and I.Potentier saw out the final overs picking up a 4th batting point in the final over.
