REGIONAL DIVISION 4 SW

SWAY III    135

MUDEFORD  IV    137-6

Put into bat Sway lost their captain Andy Glasspool early on but Sarje Willson with 27 helped by Dan Stevenson and Gary Rapjohns got the innings moving though no one managed to build a substantial score and it was left to debutante colt Rory Hudson who hit 2 sixes in top scoring with 29 to push the total up to 135. The young Mudeford bowling attack shared the wickets with James Bantock 4-33 and Jake Smith 3-34 the most successful. Andy Hillyar did manage to record his 4th duck to head the Duckometer an award he was a short priced favourite for although the competition is quite fierce.

Mudeford's reply was dominated by Rob Smith who bludgeoned 79 runs with 6 sixes and only the arrival of Willson into the attack halted the onslaught as he took 4-21 helped by fellow veteran Mike Race 2-20 but sensible application by Jacob Beminster and J.Smith saw Mudeford home to a 4 wicket victory.

Sam Harvey and Matt Riley made attempts to head the Pieometer chart currently lead by "Squeak" How though it must be pointed out that the award has not been chosen yet but is unlikely to be a real pie just in case Harvey and Wills make late attempts to win.
