Sway 2nd XI - Lords of the Manor

RD4SW: Langley Manor IV 78 all out, Sway 79-1, Sway won by 9 wickets

On a hot afternoon Langley Manor with only 10 players elected to bat first but were soon in all kinds of trouble due to excellent bowling from Charlie Smith and Matt Bramwell who swung the new ball prodigiously and took out the top order in rapid fashion. Robert Steadman 1 - 15 also chipped in with a wicket before J.Coombes (19) and N.Harvey (22) restored some respectability to the score with a 46 run partnership for the 6th wicket. Smith then returned to clean bowl Coombes and Bramwell accounted for Harvey in similar vein before they polished off the tail Smith ending with 4 - 16 and Bramwell 4 - 20.

Sway's openers Dave Hurrell and Steve Keen set about the small total in a positive way with the fubsy Keen in particular hitting the ball sweetly to all corners of the ground and not just employing his usual paddle shot. The persevering A.Rye had Hurrell caught behind by N.Harvey with the score at 61 but Ross Clark 10 n.o helped Keen 36 n.o to see Sway home in the 14th over.

With bottom of the table Adlerholt II up next, the 2nd XI will be looking to keep moving up the table.
