The 3rd XI
started their new season playing this year at Pennington and with a new
captain in Andy Glasspool. Up first were recently relegated
Centurions who made a good start batting first, however, with the score at
83 - 5 in the 18th over, honours were fairly even. However early
dropped catches were to prove crucial and further catches went down during
a 151 run partnership between M.Butcher (76) and M.Gibbs (72). Both of
these players were dismissed by Gary Rapjohns who ended up with 4 -
51 off his 10 overs, as Centurions closed out at an impressive 256 - 8.
James Howard 1-41, Andy Hillyar 1-57 and Mark Wright 1-48 plus a run
out also took wickets and Glasspool chipped in with a catch and
stumping. |
